- About Play:

This play deals with the question of choice between the worldly and unworldly, material and spiritual, through the complex dynamics of a man-woman relationship and essentially with the search of every man for his own identity, for the meaning of his existence.
Nanda, the brother of Budda, was moved by the developments of Buddism. His wife, Sundari, was sarcastic about spiritual matters and tries to control her husband by confining him within the boundaries of the family. Ultimately at the end, Nanda becomes a Bhikshu due to a misunderstanding and not by consciously rebelling against his wife's point of view.
