About the play
:

This play has been written based on the life of Bharatendu Harischandra, a Bengali playwright who is also widely acknowledged as the father of modern Hindi literature and theatre. The play depicts the helplessness and the inevitability of eventually losing the game played from the time they are born by humans with death. The play shows us how man, in his youth & final days, perceives and pulsates to life & death. Death in itself is peaceful and silent but the imagination of death is dreadful. This is probably why the fear of death rather than death itself plagues us more. In this play an attempt has been made to glorify the fear of death more than death itself.

SYNOPSIS :

Being a work of fiction; Hitler, having gone to Japan to acquire the formula to make an atom bomb, mistakenly descends at Bombilwadi while returning home. He gets into a police station there to use the wireless transmitter at the station but instead gets stuck there and gets dispatched to a drama company. The head of this drama company gets arrested, accused of hiding Hitler. To rescue their chief, the members of the drama company disguise themselves in different attires and after a lot of struggle somehow manage to complete their stage show.

This play is filled with hilarious scenes from beginning to end and humorously depicts the preparation for the play & the confusion during the show, the banter between the drama loving British police officer & his subordinate (an Indian constable) and the struggles that Hitler goes through while attempting to go back to Germany.
